Cross Contamination
Q: What is Cross Contamination?
A: Our homes, schools and work environment may be an ideal place for microorganisms to flourish if we fail to prevent cross contamination in our living spaces. Cross contamination is when we carry bacteria from one object to another object; from one object to a person; or from person to person. It’s been a long-time concern in the both the food and health care industries, but also poses a health threat in other environments where people congregate.
Q: What are the culprits of Cross Contamination?
A: Hands, equipment, cloths/rags, door handles, light switches and/or food are the most common cross contamination culprits! Employees eat at their desks leaving food particles behind which breeds bacteria and attracts pests that can further spread disease. The biggest common mistake is to clean multiple areas with the same rag and/or mop head! This is why CleanBeyond has implemented the flat mop system and color coded system to prevent using the same rag/mop head in the restroom as you would in the kitchen. Cloths, sponges and mops are sources of concentrated bacteria that can cross contaminate anything with which they come into contact.
Q: Why does CleanBeyond use flat mops rather than conventional string mops?
A: CleanBeyond uses a color-coded microfiber flat mop system that can be used wet or dry. When used with CleanBeyond’s products this type of mop showed superior microbial elimination compared with conventional string mops. Conventional string mops remove only 64% of microbes compared to microfiber mops that remove 94%. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) noted that because microfiber pads can be changed from room to room, the possibility of transplanting microbes from one place to another was significantly reduced, minimizing the risk of cross contamination.
CleanBeyond’s Healthcare-Clean Products
Q: What is the difference between a cleaner and a disinfectant?
A. A disinfectant is registered with the EPA, and as such is able to warrant actual statements regarding effectiveness in killing germs and other anti-microbial actions.
Q: CleanBeyond Healthcare-Clean products are used in schools and hospitals, but can they be used in the home?
A: Yes. CleanBeyond’s unique disinfectants are absolutely safe to use in all areas of your home. In addition to using them in the kitchen to keep food preparation surfaces clean, they are perfect for musty basements and bathrooms where mildew and mold tend to grow. We even use our products to sanitize carpeted areas.
Q: Can CleanBeyond’s “Healthy Home” Specialist clean and disinfect at the same time?
A: Yes, under lightly soiled conditions. A lot depends on how much dirt is on the surface area… the dirtier the surface, the less effective the disinfectant. In order to be effective, a disinfectant must come in contact with the surface to be cleaned and it won’t work well against a barrier of dirt and grime. NOTE: EPA requires all disinfectants carry the following label direction: “For heavily soiled areas, a pre-cleaning step is required.”. Q: How does CleanBeyond minimize harmful chemicals in the environment while maximizing cleaning power?
A. By replacing traditional cleaning chemicals with CleanBeyond’s product line we’re able to kill 99.999% of the core of the virus instead of the shell like other cleaning products. Most cleaning companies use 4th and 5th generation of Quat Cleaners (common name brand and hospital disinfectants are known as quats). The problem with quats is the virus becomes immune to the cleaner allowing “Super Bugs” to survive.
CleanBeyond Disinfecting & Odor Eliminating Spray Treatment
Q: What are the advantages of using electrostatic sprayers to disperse CleanBeyond’s Healthcare-Clean disinfectant?
A: An electrostatic sprayer is the quickest, most efficient way to treat a room, basement, or an entire school gym. In a matter of minutes, a fine mist can treat objects, walls, floors, and ceilings. CleanBeyond uses non-corrosive, non-staining disinfectants to treat environmental surfaces.
Q: Which viruses & bacteria does CleanBeyond’s Disinfecting & Odor Eliminating Treatment kill?
A: Our Disinfecting & Odor Eliminating Spray Treatment kills microorganisms including viruses, mycobacterium and bacteria. Unlike other chemical biocides, disinfectants and many antibiotics, our disinfectant not only kills the bacteria, but it disrupts the mitochondrial DNA thus eliminating any possibility of resistance mutation. Studies have proven that CleanBeyond Total HG is effective against:
